ExxonMobil & LNG

ExxonMobil has more than 35 years of LNG experience. We participate in ventures that provide LNG to customers across North America, Europe and Asia.

Through its Qatargas and RasGas joint ventures in Qatar, ExxonMobil participates in eight LNG liquefaction trains with four more trains under construction. These operations supply LNG to Asia, Europe and North America.

As part of these joint ventures, ExxonMobil has played a key role in the design and construction of 41 new LNG ships that represent a new generation of more efficient ships for LNG transportation.

In addition to BlueOcean Energy, ExxonMobil is involved in three other terminal projects.   Receiving terminals are under construction near Sabine Pass, Texas; in Wales in the United Kingdom; and offshore Italy in the Adriatic Sea.

In Libya, ExxonMobil participated in building the Marsa el Brega natural gas liquefaction plant, which began shipping LNG in 1971. In Indonesia, ExxonMobil participated in building the Arun PT natural gas liquefaction plant and has operated it for 30 years.
